Muslim world is anti-American, which means it’s anti-Ukrainian – historian Hrytsak
Historian Yaroslav Hrytsak, a professor at the Ukrainian Catholic University, suggests that the Muslim world holds an anti-American stance, which consequently affects their stance towards Ukraine
He shared this perspective in an interview on Espreso.
"The situation in Ukraine is incredibly complex, it’s obvious. It's also evident that the Palestinian conflict has a detrimental impact on Ukraine. We acknowledge that Russia, rather than Ukraine, is benefitting from it," he remarked.
Hrytsak also pointed out that the term "Global South" is a product of Russian propaganda.
"It’s a misconception propagated by the Kremlin. There's actually no Global East or Global South. It's difficult to believe that China and India share identical interests. In reality, the South is deeply divided," the historian explained.
He further noted that Ukraine's efforts to secure allies in the Arab and Muslim world face significant challenges.
"In this scenario, it's likely that the Muslim world will maintain an anti-American stance and, by extension, an anti-Ukrainian one. Unfortunately, this situation doesn't bode well for us. All I can say is that it's unlikely to impact Ukraine's position," he emphasized.
