More than 13,000 Ukrainian children are deported to Russia - Ombudsman Lubinets
The Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Lubinets, says that as of December 23, 13,613 Ukrainian children have been taken to Russia
He said this on Espreso TV.
“To date, there are 13,613 cases of forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. This number is verified and confirmed. We are greatly helped in this by some international organizations. When I talk about confirmed cases, it means that we know from what Ukrainian city they were deported and where they are on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Lubinets explained.
The ombudsman emphasized that Russia could have deported hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children.
“We assume that there may be many more forcibly deported Ukrainian children. Perhaps we are talking about hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children. Therefore, the number of confirmed cases is much lower than the actual number of Ukrainian children taken away by Russians,” he added.
