There is no major breakthrough: General Malomuzh on Russia's alleged seizure of Pobieda village
Mykola Malomuzh, General of the Ukrainian Army, Head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service (2005-2010), commented on the report of the Institute for the Study of War that Russian troops occupied a village in Donetsk region
He spoke about this on the Espreso TV channel.
"There is no confirmed information yet. The fighting is still going on there. There is no major breakthrough, but the maneuvers were performed under the strong impact of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," said Malomuzh.
According to him, Russia has moved reserves to Pobieda and other localities. The occupation forces are blocking this line, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces have taken additional positions.
"Today, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are carrying out a series of maneuvers near Pobieda village, but the enemy has built up powerful resources. The Russians are acting according to the same scheme as near Avdiivka: preliminary missile strikes, the use of glide bombs, and special forces' strike groups. The occupiers moved them from this direction to Pobieda and other settlements. So, indeed, this is another frontier that they are blocking in this situation. But if we talk about the prospects, Ukrainian forces have taken additional prepared positions or positions that allow them to strike from more favorable heights and flanks," he added.
