Russian army keeps trying to capture Terny, Yampolivka - Ukraine's 60th Brigade
Invading Russian army is trying to advance in the Lyman direction and adjust to the tactics of the Ukrainian army
Dmytro, the commander of the 96th Battalion of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, told Espreso TV.
"In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are defending the borders, giving a worthy rebuff to the enemy, who keeps trying to capture the settlements of Terny and Yampolivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have been waging a defensive war in the sector for a long time," he said.
In the area of responsibility of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade, the Russian army was quite active, even when the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the area, Dmytro said.
"When the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered, the Russians tried to advance en masse, using armored vehicles and a large number of manpower. Thanks to the coordinated actions of our units and our neighbors to the left and right, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to inflict a serious defeat on the Russian forces, after which they are still recovering. We managed to destroy some of the enemy's personnel. The Russian units withdrew to recover and returned with other personnel who had already suffered serious losses. The Russians send people into battle in the second week after signing the contract, engaging them in active combat. The age of the Russians varies, there are young guys aged 20-25," he said.
Now Russia is also trying to adapt to the tactics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and is not giving up trying to advance, added the 60th Brigade commander: "The Ukrainian Armed Forces do not allow this to happen. The Russian army suffers quite significant losses in manpower and equipment. Now we have managed to calm the enemy to some extent," he added.
- Over the past day, June 27, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,170 Russian soldiers and dozens of pieces of equipment.
