Military expert Zgurets predicts intense combat zones in upcoming weeks
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets says that Toretsk is one of the areas where the Russian army is trying to conduct frontal attacks
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Toretsk is one of the areas where the enemy is now trying to conduct frontal attacks in the directions of Pivnichne, Pivdenne, Shumy, to attack towards New York to ensure advancement towards Toretsk. This agglomeration can then influence the situation south of Chasiv Yar and the situation in Pokrovsk. At the moment, the adversary is attempting to use all the accumulated reserves for frontal attacks on Toretsk. This is in line with the enemy's strategy of reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk region. We understand that the intensity of hostilities in this area has increased significantly," noted Zgurets.
The military expert recalled that the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, made a report where he spoke about all areas. He noted that Pokrovsk and Toretsk are the areas where the Ukrainian side is taking measures to counterattack using artillery and additional forces and means.
"It will all depend on how well we manage to find a balance between the reserves of our forces and the capabilities to destroy the enemy. Although the enemy will also be pulling up reserves. The areas of Toretsk, Pokrovsk and Chasiv Yar are interconnected. That is where we will see the greatest dynamics in the coming weeks," added Zgurets.
- Over the past day, 158 combat clashes were recorded in the frontline. The Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to repel most of the Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.
- Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Yevhen Iievliev (call sign Sheikh) noted that Russian troops have been storming Ukrainian positions in the Horlivka sector for a week.
