Ukrainian army repels over 50 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector over last day - General Staff

This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff as of 8:00 a.m. on July 3.

Yesterday, the Russian aggressor launched two missile strikes (using two missiles), 45 air strikes (involving 67 KABs), and carried out more than three thousand attacks, 81 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

The Russian troops also carried out air strikes in the vicinity of 9 settlements in the Kharkiv region; 6 in the Donetsk region; 1 in the Zaporizhzhia region; and 3 in the Kherson region.

Meanwhile, over the past day, the Ukrainian aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit an ammunition depot, two air defense facilities, an artillery system, a command center, and six areas where personnel and weapons were concentrated.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army continued offensive (assault) actions with the support of aviation, a total of eight combat clashes took place in the areas of Vovchansk and Hlyboke.

In the Kupyansk direction, the number of combat clashes amounted to 13 over the day. Ukrainian defense forces repulsed hostile attacks near Synkivka in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region. Russia made the main efforts in the vicinity of Synkivka, where about 80 percent of all the confrontations in the sector took place.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops prevented 18 invaders' attacks near Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske in Luhansk region and Terny in Donetsk region.

In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled five attacks in the areas of Ivano-Daryivka, Spirne and Vyimka in the Donetsk region.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 14 hostile attempts to break through Ukraine's defense in the areas of Klishchiivka, Kalynivka, Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

In the Toretsk direction, the aggressor significantly intensified its activity, launching 32 attacks, in particular, in the areas of Toretsk, Pivnichne, Pivdenne, Zalizne and New York in the Donetsk region.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 51 attacks near 10 settlements in the Donetsk region. Russia concentrated its main efforts in the area of Novooleksandrivka, carrying out more than half of its attacks there.

In the Kurakhove direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back their enemy near Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka, where the Russian units tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops 10 times.

In the Vremivka direction, the Russian forces made three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Orikhiv direction, one combat clash took place near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the occupation forces keep trying to drive the Defense Forces units out of their positions on the bridgeheads. All four Russian attacks were unsuccessful.

In the northeastern border area, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There are no signs of Russian offensive groups forming.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, Russia maintains a military presence, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, and shells settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

• In total, Ukrainian defenders killed at least 1,180 Russian soldiers over the past day. In addition, Russia lost 16 tanks and 57 artillery systems.
