Ambassador Brink expressed her expectation that there would be announcements regarding air defense, emphasizing its crucial importance for protecting the front line, cities, and energy infrastructure.
In addition, the other two questions relate to Ukraine's plans to become a NATO member. According to Brink, she expects the announcements to offer something that will help the country find its way into the Alliance.
The diplomat emphasized that the "bridge to NATO" had been discussed before and would involve working physically with the Ukrainian government and people to move towards this goal.
In particular, Brink added that she expects wording that will facilitate Ukraine's step toward NATO.
The U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine explained that while NATO allies are currently reviewing the situation and she couldn't say exactly what will come of it, she is confident it will clearly demonstrate Ukraine's future in NATO, help bring Ukraine closer to the Alliance, and show that the Alliance as a whole stands with Ukraine.
