Holding line in town of ruins is challenging - Rubizh brigade's artillery recon head on Chasiv Yar
Captain Volodymyr Nazarenko reports Ukrainian Defense Forces use dynamic defense to maximize the destruction of the Russian offensive potential
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The situation is very hot and complicated again. Russian forces are putting maximum pressure on Ukrainian positions along the entire eastern frontline, actively using UAVs with munitions, quadcopters with munitions, FPV drones and artillery," emphasized Nazarenko.
According to the head of artillery intelligence of the 4th Rubizh Brigade, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are using dynamic defense, trying to destroy the Russian offensive potential as much as possible.
"As for the Chasiv Yar area, according to information from our colleagues, it is very difficult to hold the defense in the ruins, where not a single house has survived. The Kanal neighborhood is the eastern part of Chasiv Yar. The city is divided into several large neighborhoods, which are geographically dispersed and have heterogeneous buildings. The Kanal neighborhood is located on the eastern bank of the Siverskyi Donets Canal, which stretches to Sloviansk and the temporarily occupied territories. Although the canal is shallow in many places and no longer fulfills its water supply functions, it is still a natural geographical barrier that slows down and stops enemy advancement attempts. Armored vehicles cannot pass through the canal, and Russian infantry cannot advance unnoticed," explained Nazarenko.
He also added that the main task of the Ukrainian Defense Forces is to destroy the Russian invading forces as much as possible.
"The enemy suffers thousands of losses in manpower, record losses in artillery, armored vehicles and tanks every day. Although it seems that the Russian resources are limitless. But sooner or later, the occupiers must run out of steam, as well as their equipment, their hellish vehicles and guns," Nazarenko noted.
- Oleksiy Hetman, a veteran and reserve major of Ukraine's National Guard, notes that Russian troops had moved a large amount of manpower and equipment to Chasiv Yar.
