Militants torture and rob the local population in the occupied settlements
Russian invaders intimidate the local population in the temporarily occupied territories, engage in looting and torture, said Lyudmyla Denysova, Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada
She announced this on Telegram.
"In settlements that are temporarily captured or recaptured by the aggressor, rashist militants torture the local population. In the Sumy region, invaders drive people out of their homes and engage in looting", she wrote.
According to Denysova, invaders use the absence of "green" corridors, in particular, in the Sumy region.
"Villages where the aggressor comes to spend the night suffer the most: the Russians break into houses, drive people out into the street and take away food. They slaughter livestock and poultry", the story is told by a human rights commissioner.
In the Kherson region, in the village of Vysokopillya, invaders take vehicles from residents, including transport documents.
In Mariupol, a well-known paramedic, People's Hero of Ukraine Yulia Paevska, along with her driver Sergiy, were captured by the rashists. The woman saved the lives of people for eight years, including children and wounded soldiers. At the same time, Yulia has a disability and health problems, Denysova noted.
Lyudmyla Denysova emphasized that the taking of civilian hostages and terror against people in the occupied territories is a violation of the Geneva Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights. She also called on the international community to take all possible measures to put pressure on Russia.
