Melitopol becomes iconic city for Russian forces after Kherson, AFU to continue pressure - OC South
Ukraine's Armed Forces will continue to put pressure on the Russian troops in occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region - the work will be even more powerful.
Operational Command South's (OC South) press center head Natalia Humeniuk said this on Espreso.
“We are preparing the Russian forces to accept the future loss of Melitopol. They will still have to leave all Ukrainian cities and settlements of any size if they are not entrenched there. The question is whether it will be a gesture of "goodwill" or whether it will be of our goodwill,” she said.
According to Humeniuk, Ukraine's Armed Forces will continue to put pressure on the Russian troops in Melitopol.
“They are trying to strengthen themselves because this is their iconic city instead of Kherson. They are pushed by us to the left bank of the Dnipro River, but if they agree to retreat with such confident steps, we can only help them. Currently, our work will be even more powerful and it will be for a long time. We are ready for any development and we are aware that the enemy is clinging to everything it took from us,” the spokeswoman concluded.
