Mariupol defenders taken from Russia to Turkey are still in captivity, they will be free when they return to Ukraine - Azov fighter's sister
Sandra Krotevych, co-founder of the Azovstal Defenders’ Families Association and sister of the Azov regiment's chief of staff, Bohdan Krotevych, believes that the fighters who are now in Turkey are being held in another guarded captivity, where they are not abused and are properly fed
She expressed her opinion on Espreso TV.
Sandra Krotevych commented on the stay of Ukrainian fighters in Turkey under the control and guarantees of President Erdogan:
‘Everything is fine with the boys, they are not in captivity, but still it is captivity. Because they don't have the opportunity, like us, to move freely, drink coffee, call at any time, go somewhere and meet people - they don't have all this. They are in another captivity under guard, where they are not abused and fed properly. When they return to Ukraine, then it will be possible to say that they have been released."
The co-founder of the Azovstal Defenders’ Families Association concluded that while the fighters are in Turkey, it should be called the same as it is called, namely captivity, because the men are still in captivity only under security guarantees.
