Map of hostilities in Ukraine: overview of events from July 1 to 3
The Ukrainian military destroys several warehouses every day, but the enemy pushed the Defense Forces in the Luhansk region, which Ukraine temporarily lost completely
Battles for Donetsk region
The Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from Lysychansk and temporarily left the territory of Luhansk region, which is now completely under occupation. A new front line began to form almost on the border of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, at a distance of about 10 km from the cities of Siversk and Bakhmut. They became the last barricade on the approaches to a large agglomeration of cities led by Kramatorsk and Slovyansk. This agglomeration consists of a dozen cities and towns with a population of over 400,000 Ukrainians.
On July 3, Slovyansk and Kramatorsk came under massive bombardment from rocket artillery. Unguided missiles killed many people and caused considerable damage to infrastructure. However, we already saw the beginning of hostilities for Slovyansk a few weeks ago, when the "Izyum" group of occupation forces launched an assault on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine north of the city. Similar preparatory attacks took place south of Kostyantynivka. In the coming days, all these forces will pounce on the most densely populated agglomeration of Donetsk region from three sides. At the same time, the Defense Forces have been preparing these cities since 2014, so they are as ready as possible for an assault. And if the completely surrounded Mariupol defended itself for 3 months, then the Rashists (a negative term combining the words 'Russian' and 'fascist' used for Russian forces and Russians who support the war) can break their already rather rotten teeth against "Kramatorsk and Ko." Nevertheless, it was here that the occupiers concentrated 55-60% of their troops.
Instead, the Armed Forces began to massively destroy warehouses and important military facilities of the enemy in the rear. In three days, the following targets were destroyed near Popasna, in Rovenki in Luhansk Region, as well as in Donetsk, Snizhne, Khartsyzk, Makiivka, Chystiakove, and Yasynuvata in Donetsk Region. The Russian amphibious assault boat of the 1176 "Shark" project blew up near Mariupol.
Southern front
In the south, the Defense Forces are putting pressure on Kherson Oblast, Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk Oblast, where the Russian troops have insignificant forces that are stretched over many kilometers of the front. As soon as a gap appears in the defense of the Russians in response to the active actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they transfer forces there from another part of the front, weakening it, and the Ukrainian military immediately directs its new strike there. Such a game will not last long, and sooner or later the Rushists' defense will collapse.
The Ukrainian army is storming in the south, west and north of Kherson region, near Orikhiv and Polohy in Zaporizhzhia, as well as from Vuhledar towards Volnovakha and Staromlynivka in the south of Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, in the rear, military targets and warehouses are exploding in Chornobaivka near Kherson and Snigurivka in the Mykolayiv region. On the night of July 2, more than 20 explosions rang out at the Melitopol airport in Zaporizhzhia, and a strategically important bridge over the Molochna River between Melitopol and Tokmak blew up.
Instead, the Russian Nazis continued to terrorize the civilian population and shelled a recreation base in Sergiivka, near Odesa. Mykolaiv is shelled almost every day, as well as Kharkiv and the north of Sumy region and Chernihiv region.
The maps were created on the basis of information received from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other open and verified sources. At the same time, the maps are not as accurate as possible and only conditionally reflect trends in the combat zone.
