Zelenskyy scraps Spain and Portugal trips amid Ukraine's internal crisis
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called off his scheduled visits to Portugal and Spain due to the serious internal situation gripping the country
CNN Portugal was the first to report this, citing its own sources.
The decision to cancel the trip was attributed to the grave internal situation in Ukraine.
"Although specific details weren't provided, it appears that the delegation accompanying the Ukrainian head of state recognized the inadvisability of traveling abroad amidst the challenging situation, especially in Kharkiv," the report stated.
Following this, President Zelenskyy's press secretary, Serhiy Nikiforov, confirmed the decision, stating that Zelenskyy had directed to postpone all international engagements involving him.
"President Zelenskyy has instructed to postpone all international events with his participation scheduled for the upcoming days, and new dates will be worked out. We appreciate our partners' understanding," Nikiforov said.
Zelenskyy made this announcement during the daily briefing, focusing on the situation in the Kharkiv region and the support for the Armed Forces.
