Ukraine's UN Representative exposes Russia's release of convicted cannibals and maniacs to fight against Ukraine
It is difficult to imagine how the residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine suffer when rapists and murderers serving in the Russian army enjoy complete impunity for crimes against them, says the diplomat
This was stated by Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrinform reports.
"Some cases shock even Russians who are loyal to Putin's regime. For example, Russian media recently revealed two notorious murderers in the Russian army - cannibal Dmitry Malyshev, who killed several people and ate the heart of one of them, and maniac Alexander Maslennikov, who killed and dismembered two women," he said.
Kyslytsia emphasized that such skills are now in great demand in the Russian army, so instead of long prison terms, both were recruited from prison cells to the army and sent to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians.
Ukraine's representative to the UN noted that, as Putin's May 9 speech suggests, such people are "real heroes" of Russia, but upon returning to Russia, Kyslytsia said, these "heroes" continue their violent activities. According to the Russian media alone, at least 24 convicted murderers who were pardoned and returned home after participating in the war have committed murders again.
"It is hard to imagine how the residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine suffer when rapists and murderers serving in the Russian army enjoy complete impunity for crimes against them," the diplomat emphasized.
He also reminded that on May 10, the Russian army launched an offensive in the northern Kharkiv region.
"Russian troops continue to raze Ukrainian cities to the ground... And Vovchansk has become the latest victim, similar to Bakhmut or Marinka," the Permanent Representative noted.
In addition, Kyslytsia informed, since the end of February, Russia has launched 388 strikes on 131 energy infrastructure facilities, including hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants, dams and power transmission systems. These strikes destroyed almost all of Ukraine's thermal generation.
Ukraine's representative also noted that the list of so-called "unfriendly states" compiled by Moscow largely coincides with the composition of the Anti-Hitler Coalition.
"Those who defeated Nazism are enemies for modern Russia. And now Moscow is threatening these states with nuclear weapons and subjecting them to disgusting verbal attacks," he stated, emphasizing that Ukraine is the only country in the world that is attacked almost daily with ballistic and cruise missiles. In April alone, Russian troops launched more than 300 missiles, nearly 300 Shaheds and more than 3,200 guided bombs.
"Do not forget that all this is being done by the country that declared itself the main fighter against Nazism at the UN," added the Permanent Representative of Ukraine.
