Russia has no reserves for strategic breakthroughs - military expert Zgurets
Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets believes that the invading Russian troops will try to act along a wide frontline, using limited reserves
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"In the Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod regions, Russia has 50,000 personnel concentrated. In the Kharkiv direction, from the side of the Belgorod region, our military said that about 30,000 personnel of the Russian army are concentrated there. According to estimates of Russia's ability to ensure an advance toward Kharkiv, this is considered an insufficient number. But these forces may be enough for attacks and the creation of conditional sanitary zones, which Russia is seeking," explained Zgurets.
According to the military expert, the invading Russian army will try to act along a wide front line, using limited reserves.
"If we assess the Russian reserves in general, it is a complicated issue. Publications have said that 300,000 personnel are being trained beyond the Urals. I think this is a bit of an exaggeration. More pragmatic estimates of Russian strategic reserves along the entire front line ranged from two army corps, i.e., 60 thousand enemy personnel. These 60,000 may be mentioned as a reserve for use by the adversary in areas where our defense may be under pressure. The northern direction is not so critical yet. As for other parts of the eastern front, despite the enemy's activity, if there is any advance, it is measured by minimal distances. Currently, the enemy has no reserves for strategic breakthroughs," noted Zgurets.
