Mandatory evacuation may be announced from places in 3 more Ukrainian regions - Vereshchuk
In addition to the Donetsk region, Ukrainian citizens may be instructed to evacuate some areas in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions.
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, announced this on the air of a nationwide information telethon.
According to her, in addition to the Donetsk region, which has been subject to mandatory evacuation since the beginning of August, the same may be announced from part of the territories of the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions.
"Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv regions (now in line for mandatory evacuation, - Ed.). I am not talking about the entire region, but some parts will require mandatory evacuation, and we are also preparing for this", Vereshchuk said.
Iryna Vereshchuk emphasized that the state provides free transportation, accommodation, food, as well as medical services to citizens who are evacuated.
In addition, material support is provided for residents of those regions from which mandatory evacuation is being carried out.
"If it is a mandatory evacuation, it is UAH 2,200 for each person immediately upon the arrival of the train or other vehicle used during evacuation. Also, UAH 2,000 for each adult, UAH 3,000 for each child or person with a disability. Everyone will receive the necessary minimum. Housing and food, at least to survive the winter months, will be free", Vereshchuk said.
According to her, since the beginning of August, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated from the territory of the Donetsk region as part of the mandatory evacuation. One third of them are children, and more than a thousand are people with limited mobility and the elderly.
