Leopard and Challenger tanks supply will overcome red line in provision of heavy weapons to Ukraine
The provision of tanks from Poland and Britain to Ukraine will overcome the red line in the supply of heavy weapons, and soon Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive them in addition to the others.
Serhiy Zgurets, CEO of the Defense Express military expert group, shared his opinion with Espreso TV.
According to him, Ukraine needs modern tanks to increase its offensive capabilities. Serhiy Zgurets noted that meeting in Lviv of presidents of Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania is interesting because the Polish president declared his readiness to hand over Leopard company, of which there are about 2,000 in Europe. Sweden, Finland, Spain and Germany also agreed to provide tanks. In total, this is 1.2 thousand tanks, a significant number of which can be supplied to Ukraine even without damage to the defense capabilities of these states.
"I think that decision on the transfer of Leopard in a larger format will be made at Ramstein meeting of defense ministers. And the first transfer of tanks from Poland and Challenger from Britain, which are very good, will overcome the red line that has existed for so long in the supply of heavy arms to Ukraine. I think this is precisely the period when the ice will break and in addition to infantry fighting vehicles, we will begin to receive these powerful Western vehicles, which are Mercedes-class on the battlefield compared to other samples of Soviet military equipment that we used before," Serhiy Zgurets stressed.
