Lawmakers should create Temporary Investigative Commission to control use of weapons from Western partners
The Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, should develop an optimum model for parliamentary control over the use of West-provided weapons
The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, made an announcement in his Telegram channel.
"I would like to suggest that people's deputies consider one important idea. Namely, the creation of a temporary special commission to deal with the preparation and consideration of issues related to control over the use of weapons received from our partners," he wrote.
He added that the Temporary investigative commission should prepare an optimal model of parliamentary control over the use of weapons.
Yermak emphasized the failure of Russian attempts to unbalance the international coalition around Ukraine, while the issue of weapons is a priority for our state. At the same time, transparency is the best recipe against Russian manipulations and fakes.
"We all see how Western weapons, self-propelled guns, HIMARS and other types of weapons are already changing the situation on the battlefield.
We need more weapons to liberate the territories, we will not let the Russians win and we will do everything to drive them out of our land. That is why pro-Russian narratives will be broken. Parliament, as a legislative body, should be involved in the control of Allied defense assistance. Our goal is maximum transparency, as far as possible in the conditions of martial law," Yermak said.
All weapons received from international partners are registered and sent to the front. Everything is clearly controlled and now this process will be even more open, he added.
