Kremlin reacts to possible supply of fighter jets to Ukraine
Russian leader's spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine would lead to an escalation and prolongation of the war
Russian media reported Peskov’s statement.
This was Peskov’s response to a question about the possible supply of fighter jets to Ukraine after Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the UK.
"We see this as the growing involvement of the UK, Germany, and France in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The line between indirect and direct involvement is gradually disappearing. One can only express regret over this. And to state that such actions by these countries lead to an escalation of tensions and prolong this conflict, making it more painful for Ukraine," Peskov said.
He also expressed his belief that the supply of the fighter jets allegedly "will not fundamentally change the outcome of the conflict and the trajectory that Russia is following" to achieve its goals in Ukraine.
