Kislytsia tells UN about how family suffered due to Russian aggression
Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, described how Russia killed a member of his family
He stated this during the extraordinary special session of the UN General Assembly.
During the presentation at the meeting of the draft resolution "Territorial integrity of Ukraine: defense of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations", which condemns Russia's holding of pseudo-referendums in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Kislytsia said that his relatives had already suffered from the war, and one of the members of his family died.
"My country was attacked, my close relatives were in an apartment building that was attacked. They could not go to the bomb shelter because there was no electricity. Russia has already killed a member of my family, and there is no end to this cruelty," Kislytsia shared.
He noted that the Russian shelling on October 10 once again showed the terrorist face of Russia. According to him, she is doing everything possible to "return us to the 1930s".
"You cannot hope for peace while crazy dictatorships exist next to you. Dictatorships that use missile terror against citizens and infrastructure. Today, terrorist Russia fired at least 84 missiles and two dozen UAVs at Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities... The whole world saw the truth again the face of a terrorist state that is killing our people. Losing on the battlefield, Russia uses methods of intimidation... A deliberate attack on civilians is a war crime," Kislytsia said.
He also emphasized that the UN needs to restore trust in itself, otherwise it will collapse. According to him, the only thing Russia is afraid of is unity in protecting the UN charter and the right of each country to respect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
