Kadyrov to become Gauleiter of Ukraine's occupied territories, having led Russian Guard - political expert Smolii
According to political expert Andrii Smolii, the head of the Kremlin-controlled Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov is preparing to become the head of Russia's Guard and the Gauleiter of the temporarily Russia-occupied territories of Ukraine
He wrote about this on Telegram.
"The head of Chechnya, Kadyrov, announced his intention to leave the position he held for 15 years. He says he is already old. In fact, he is trying to take advantage of the helplessness of the security forces in Moscow, turning into a federal-level leader. According to a number of Russian media, he has been prepared for the post of commander-in-chief of the Russian Guard Rosgvardiya," Smolii wrote.
As Smolii explains, the Russian Guard is, in fact, the internal troops of the Russian Federation, which can be engaged in both the 'clearing' of already occupied territories and the control of the situation on the territory of Russia.
"In fact, Kadyrov will be the main military policeman of the country, arresting dissenters, dispersing rallies, and teaching residents of the temporarily Russia-occupied territories of Ukraine to 'love' the 'Russian world'", Smolii wrote.
The current head of the Russian Guard, Viktor Zolotov, seeks to replace Sergei Shoigu, who fell out of favor amid the Russian army's failures in Ukraine, as defense minister.
"Kadyrov and his henchmen are bad soldiers, but they are prone to brutality. Kadyrov's opponents were often killed, and torture and kidnapping are commonplace in Chechnya. Obviously, it is this practice that Putin wants to spread throughout Russia at a time when anti-war, anti-Kremlin sentiments, and social protests will grow," the message says.
According to a political expert, the struggle between security forces is intensifying in Russia.
"Unlike Zolotov, Shoigu, and others, Kadyrov has his own army of TikTok soldiers. The threat of this is well understood in the Kremlin. By the way, there is a small possibility that the fantasies about federal power will remain so - in case Putin comes to his senses and won't risk giving a monkey a grenade," he added.
It is also noted that Kadyrov is trying to get the status of a representative of all Muslims in the Russian Federation (about 15 million people).
"After the court banned the translation of collections of hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), Kadyrov publicly hinted that Muslims in the Russian Federation should not be insulted, because they are fighting against Ukrainians, and they may not do this," Smolii noted.
