It's fortunate for US and Ukraine that Trump was defeated in 2020 - former security adviser Bolton
John Bolton, diplomat and former National Security Adviser to the US President, told Espreso how Donald Trump's presidency would affect the Russia-Ukraine war
The American diplomat believes that if Donald Trump were the US President now, the Alliance would be weakened and Russia would have significant advantages.
“NATO might have provided much less assistance to Ukraine. I think it's fortunate for the US and Ukraine that Trump was defeated in 2020,” John Bolton noted.
Moreover, the former National Security Adviser to the US President doesn't think Trump has a chance of becoming the Republican nominee in 2024.
“His influence within the Republican Party continues to diminish. There are isolations in the Republican Party as there are in the Democratic Party, but on both parts, there remain a small minority and the overwhelming majority of American people whatever party affiliation continues supporting Ukraine,” John Bolton concluded.
