Investors believe in Ukraine's victory
An article in Politico cites estimates that costs to date for recovery and reconstruction Ukraine at $411 billion.
These funds represent not just money but also promising contracts valued at over $400 billion. These contracts are mainly for Western investors, who have carefully calculated the potential profits.
Despite the challenges, these investors are preparing to finalize and fulfill these highly profitable and long-term contracts. To show their commitment, they are building strong relationships with the Ukrainian government and even providing certain services for free as their contribution to future cooperation.
Some notable companies, such as Rud Pedersen Group (a strategic communications and PR company ranked 74th out of 250 in the global industry rating) and Rasmussen Global (a political consulting firm promoting business-to-business dialogue and geopolitical initiatives, actively supporting Ukraine's NATO membership), have opened offices in Kyiv. This is happening despite the ongoing hostilities in the city, which includes frequent shelling though not tank attacks. However, the determination of these well-known companies was unaffected.
If these companies came to Ukraine, it means they expect Ukraine to win and succeed in the near future. They also see great opportunities for their work, so they are opening an office in Kyiv.
The Ukrainian authorities have convinced the West, including governments and businesses (which do not make such large-scale decisions without consultation with the governments), that it's a good idea to invest in Ukraine despite the war, destruction, and still persistent issues with corruption. The business community has shown clear interest, and our allies have faith in us.
An interesting fact is that both the future contractors and Russian experts know that the reconstruction of Ukraine, for the announced amount and more, will be funded by Russia itself. This includes the frozen $330 billion, reparations, and other Russian funds.
