Inertial flywheel of European, US defense industries starts to operate smoothly to meet the needs of their countries and of Ukraine - Zgurets
Director of the information and consulting company Defense Express, Serhiy Zgurets, believes that Ramstein-5 was quite successful, because discussion covered both important strategic initiatives concerning the future of the Ukrainian army and making adequate provision to ensure Ukraine's needs are met regarding the continuing operation of a protective shield around it after the war with Russia ends.
He made the comments on Espreso.TV live on air.
"In my opinion, Ramstein-5 was quite successful, because they started talking not about meeting the operational needs of Ukrainian Armed Forces, but finally reached the strategic level. The official statements covered work on the future appearance of the Ukrainian army and meeting those needs, which after the war with the Russian Federation will help Ukraine to keep its protective shield," the military analyst commented.
Serhiy Zgurets noted that the initiatives announced at Ramstein, in particular in the field of the military industrial complex, are all focused on this.
"There will be a meeting of the National Arms Directors, the deputy Ministers of Defence of the NATO countries, who will discuss the issue of intensifying weapons production. That is, the inertial flywheel of the defense industry of Europe and the US begins to operate smoothly to meet the needs of their countries' Armed Forces and of Ukraine. This overlaps with another initiative: discussion of the transformation of the Armed Forces, taking into account the vision of both the US and the Ukrainian military, how exactly the army of Ukraine should be transformed in order to be more capable in the new realities of war. These strategic factors of Ramstein are extremely important in parallel with meeting the operational needs that were discussed earlier, given the amount of aid of USD 675 million and the direction of distribution of this aid by certain types of weapons," Zgurets noted.
