Former Russian captain of Krasnodar submarine killed with help of Strava app
Stanislav Rzhytskyi, former commander of the B-265 Krasnodar submarine that carried out terrorist missile attacks on Ukraine with Kalibrs, was shot dead while jogging
Defense Express writes that the Russian media reported the death of Stanislav Rzhytskyi, the former commander of the B-265 Krasnodar submarine, who, in particular, carried out a terrorist missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia on July 14 last year.
In the morning of July 10, between 7 and 8 a.m, he went for a morning jog and was ambushed by an unknown person. The captain was shot seven times in the back and chest and died on the spot from his wounds.
InformNapalm noted that the Strava app could have helped the killer track the captain, as he regularly posted his jogging routes to the public. Moreover, several published screenshots show that Rzhitsky was running along the same route, making it much easier for the unknown person who had plans to eliminate him.
Defense Express reported on the 'spy' Strava app back in 2018, when a student from Australia, Nathan Rasser, noticed atypical activity in the app in regions around Syria and the Sahara, which could indicate the presence of security forces near military bases.
Military experts and analysts took notice of the app, and one of them, for example, identified the names of 573 people who ran around the parking lot of the British intelligence headquarters every morning.
At the same time, Western journalists pointed out that Strava could also be useful for assessing Russian military forces in eastern Ukraine, with the map showing the movement of Russian troops near Marinka in the Donetsk region.
