Mariupol mayor's advisor Petro Andriushchenko stated that near the temporarily occupied Berdiansk in Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian Lieutenant General named Oleg Tsokov was eliminated
He posted about it on Telegram.
"It is reported that today in the Berdiansk region, a Russian Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov was eliminated," the message reads.
Andriushchenko mentioned that the man had already been injured in September 2022 but survived.
Later, the official supplemented his post with comments from "partners" from Berdiansk, stating that according to preliminary information, Tsokov may have been killed in a nighttime attack on the Duna Hotel located within the Priazovkurort territory.
"Local people report that almost nothing is left of the hotel. Ambulances and heavy equipment are now working on the site to clear the rubble. The area is closed off. No one is allowed in," Andriushchenko writes.
Reportedly, the enemy military leadership lived there for some time. The location of the enemy air defense system was also nearby. Currently, Russian media do not publish any information about night strikes in Berdiansk.
Additional information: Oleg Tsokov is a Russian military commander, a Lieutenant General. Due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, he is under sanctions from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand for involvement in missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. In August 2014, Tsokov took command of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet based in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol. Since August 2022, Tsokov has been the commander of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General in 2023. In addition to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he participated in two Chechen wars and the war in Syria.

On September 23, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that near Svatove in Luhansk region, as a result of enemy fire, the commander of the 144th Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation, Major General Oleg Tsokov, was injured.
