A powerful earthquake has already killed more than 4.2 thousand people in Turkey and Syria, more victims are found during rescue operations
With reference to the Turkish Disaster and Management Authority (AFAD) head Yunus Cesar, Anadolu reports that on the morning of February 7, the death toll from the devastating earthquake in southern Turkey reached 2 921, 15 834 more people were injured.
Earlier, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay reported that 7 840 people were rescued from under the rubble. Oktay added that 338 000 people were sheltered in dormitories, universities and other institutions.
According to Al Jazeera, in Syria, the earthquake so far has resulted in 1 293 people dead and 3 411 injured.
