Denmark decides to transfer decommissioned Leopard tanks to Ukraine
Denmark has decided to transfer Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine, which are no longer part of the country's armed forces. The equipment should arrive within a few months
This was reported by DR Nyheder.
"The decommissioned Danish Leopard 1A5 tanks must be dusted off, brought to readiness and sent to the battlefield in Ukraine," the report says.
Thus, Denmark joins the "tank coalition" of countries that donate Leopards to Ukraine.
The publication notes that these are older Leopard tanks that are no longer part of the Danish armed forces. In 2010, they were sold to the German company FFG, but they are still in Denmark.
"It is expected that thanks to the cooperation, it will be possible to deliver a triple-digit number of old German tanks to the fighting in Ukraine," the media notes.
The first tanks should arrive within a few months.
