Deliveries of long-range missiles should not be announced – Defense Express editor-in-chief Katkov
There is no need to announce the supply of long-range missiles to Ukraine, as this will allow the Russian forces to redeploy important objects
Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of Defense Express, said this on Espreso TV.
"We already have information that another aid package from the United States will be announced in the coming days. It will include half a billion dollars - ammunition, air defence systems, but there are no extended changes that may be announced in the near future regarding fighters or long-range missile weapons," he emphasized.
Katkov suggested that there may have been some closed-door talks about this, but such weapons are likely to appear in Ukraine before they are announced.
"If we take missiles, this is not the kind of weapon that should be announced about. It's not that the Russians will try to destroy them in Ukraine. As soon as it is announced that Ukraine will receive a certain type of missile with a certain range, the Russian forces will start moving their most important command posts and communication centers as far away from the line of fire as possible and underground," the military expert concluded.
