Defense Ministry: Ukraine seizes battlefield initiative, but needs weapons with up to 200 km range
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are taking the initiative on the battlefield. However, they need more weapons with a range of up to 200 km in order to strengthen their capabilities
Deputy Defense Minister, Volodymyr Havrylov, shared the information on the Defense Ministry's Telegram.
"Ukraine is seizing the initiative - Russia is on the defensive, but Ukraine needs weapons with a range of up to 200 km to build up its capabilities," Havrylov said.
He also said that to achieve victory over the Russian invaders, the Ukrainian Defense Forces need long-range precision weapons.
All our military plans are being carried out in accordance with the estimates. In modern warfare, situational awareness is crucial, allowing us to accurately identify the enemy's positions and effectively conduct long-range precision strikes. Therefore, it is essential to have weapons capable of engaging targets at distances of up to 200 km," the deputy minister said.
Furthermore, he mentioned that Ukraine is in the process of acquiring aircraft primarily dedicated to safeguarding its airspace against Russian ballistic missiles and other types of missiles. This measure is aimed at protecting both civilians and critical civilian infrastructure.
"More than a year of war has passed, and we are confident that we will defeat the Russian invaders, together with our partners who provide us with everything we need," Havrylov summarized.
