Britain will continue supplying Ukraine with weapons and train the Ukrainian military, Johnson said
After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Britain would continue to provide military and financial support to Ukraine
He said this during a joint briefing.
"From the very beginning until today, we were ready to continue providing weapons and training in the use of these weapons. The Ukrainian people and Ukraine’s Armed Forces will be able to do what Ukrainians really want to do, namely expel the aggressor from Ukraine," Johnson said.
According to him, Great Britain will strengthen the world diplomatic coalition in support of Ukraine and will work to strengthen sanctions against Vladimir Putin’s regime.
"We will work on sanctions against the Putin regime. We will continue to strengthen the diplomatic coalition around the world in support of Ukraine. I understand the need to continue financial support for Ukraine, unblock the export of grain that Putin has taken hostage in an attempt to deprive the world of food," Johnson said.
Boris Johnson also noted the heroism of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. He expressed his understanding about the impossibility of any compromises between the Ukrainian people and the President of the Russian Federation. Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support and understanding of Great Britain.
