Biden supports F-16 training for Ukrainian military at G7 summit
US President Joe Biden said during the G7 summit that the US doesn't mind training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets
President Joe Biden said this during the G7 summit, CNN reports, citing officials of the US presidential administration.
According to him, the fighter jet training will not take place in the United States, but American personnel are likely to participate along with European allies and partners.
The training is expected to last several months and could begin in the coming weeks.
“As the training takes place over the coming months, our coalition of countries participating in this effort will decide when to actually provide jets, how many we will provide, and who will provide them,” the official said.
He also added that the US and its allies are now focused on delivering the vast majority of systems, weapons, and training to prepare Ukraine for a future counteroffensive.
