Baykar will gift Bayraktar to Ukraine
The Baykar company has said it will give Ukraine a Bayraktar drone free of charge, after people in Poland crowdfunded to buy one.
The Turkish company informed the fund-raising organizer, journalist Sławomir Sierakowski about this.
"We want to be a part of this human gesture of solidarity... We will hand over the Bayraktar TB2 drone to the Ukrainians so that they can defend their Motherland in the best possible way", it is noted.
The PLN 22.5 million raised in Poland, in agreement with the Ukrainian and Turkish parties, will be directed to humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian society, which is suffering terrible casualties.
Sierakowski added: since we managed to collect even more funds than planned, with a surplus of PLN 1,800,000 (plus proceeds from the auction), they will be transferred to the account of the Ukrainian Armed Forces fund at the National Bank of Ukraine.
By the end of the week, when the fundraiser is finally closed, this amount may increase even more.
"To sum up: in general, our financial assistance to Ukraine amounts to about PLN 50 million (USD 10.6 million)", Sierakowski added.
