Armored vehicles, munitions worth USD 2.6 billion: media reveals details of US aid package
The US is finalizing the development of a large military aid package to Ukraine, probably worth USD 2.6 billion
The Associated Press reported this.
“It’s expected to include for the first time nearly 100 Stryker combat vehicles and at least 50 Bradley armored vehicles to allow Ukrainian forces to move more quickly and securely on the front lines in the war with Russia,” the journalists write.
However, as the AP points out, the numbers could change when Joe Biden's administration finishes discussing the package.
In addition, the aid is expected to include thousands of munitions, including missiles for air defense systems.
According to CNN sources, the list also includes anti-mine vehicles, known as MRAPs.
The package is not expected to include tanks or long-range missiles, which Ukraine has repeatedly requested.
However, the US is likely to send Ukraine more munitions for artillery systems and HIMARS missile systems, which have been consistently provided in recent aid packages.
By the way, the next package will be announced after the meeting at the Ramstein base in Germany on January 20. It will be attended by Defense Minister Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley.
