Almost every Russian missile attacking Ukraine can carry nuclear warhead
Harvard University nuclear energy researcher Mariana Budjeryn says that Russia uses missiles that can carry nuclear warheads to strike the territory of Ukraine
She shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Russia has a huge nuclear arsenal. They have as many warheads as the US. Their nuclear forces leveled off in the 1970s, and then they proportionally decreased. Now Russia has over 1,500 strategic nuclear warheads. As for tactical nuclear weapons, as far as I know, Russia has more than 2,000 warheads," the researcher said.
She stressed that Russia has several types of dual-use missiles.
"Russia claims that its nuclear weapons are not deployed. That is, it is located in central special warehouses. We and Western intelligence are well aware of the location of these warehouses. However, the very fact that they exist and that Russia has carriers of nuclear weapons creates a danger. And it is already openly using these dual-use carriers. For instance, Iskanders can launch both nuclear and conventional weapons. Also, Kinzhal missiles and some Kh-type missiles can also carry nuclear warheads. And this is a kind of signal. They use missiles, which can carry a nuclear warhead, to strike Ukraine," she added.
- On January 6, Ukraine’s National Resistance Center reported that equipment and units of the Russian radiation, chemical and biological defense troops were spotted at the Crimean Titan plant.
