This was reported on the website of the US Ministry of Defense.
"As we continue to provide security assistance to Ukraine, we are working with industry to accelerate mission-critical weapons and systems", Dr. William LaPlante, US Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Supply, said. "This includes providing funding to purchase more equipment, expand production lines, as well as support for hired workers and workforce development", it is noted.
In addition, LaPlante noted that the Pentagon has allocated almost USD 400 million to restock HIMARS, and plans to allocate almost USD 200 million to expand and accelerate production.
Contacts are expected this fall and early next year.
