After February 24, more than 7,000 civilians become victims of Russian aggression in Ukraine
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has confirmed 7,068 deaths and 11,415 injuries of civilians in Ukraine as a result of Russian full-scale invasion.
These are the organization's data from February 24 to January 22.
Organization stresses that real death toll is much higher because there are delays in receiving information from some places where fighting is ongoing, and many reports still need to be confirmed.
"This applies, for example, to the settlements of Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region), Lysychansk, Popasna, and Sievierodonetsk (Luhansk region), where, according to reports, there have been numerous cases of death or injury of civilians," the message says.
Most of recorded casualties were caused by use of large-area explosive weapons, including heavy artillery and multiple missile launchers, as well as missile and airstrikes.
