Actress Barbra Streisand donates USD 240,000 for medical aid to Ukraine

At the summit on the occasion of the UNITED24 Medical Aid anniversary, Yaroslava Gres, coordinator of the platform, presented a check from UNITED24 Ambassador Barbra Streisand to Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.

It is reported that the actress constantly supports Ukrainian medicine.

Other ambassadors, such as the band Imagine Dragons, American actor Liev Schreiber, astronaut Scott Kelly, and prominent Ukrainian athletes Elina Svitolina and Andriy Shevchenko, also help raise funds. 

The funds are transferred to a special account of the National Bank of Ukraine, which is assigned to the Ministry of Health.

• On September 22, 2022, American vocalist, composer, actress, and director Barbra Streisand became an ambassador of the UNITED24 initiative.  

• Ukraine's Ministry of Health, together with the World Bank, has purchased modern intraosseous vascular access systems as part of the Improving Health in the Service of People project.  

• On April 10, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with British businessman Richard Branson, who became a United24 ambassador, to discuss the reconstruction and demining of Ukraine. After the meeting, billionaire businessman Branson called on the West to increase its support for Ukraine.

• In 11 months, people from all over the world have donated more than UAH 1.3 billion to support the medical sector in Ukraine through the United24 platform.  

• In total, people from all over the world have joined the United24 platform in 11 months of operation, and the amount of charitable contributions has now crossed the USD 305 million mark.

• Over the 12 months of the United24 initiative's operation, people from 110 countries have donated almost UAH 1.4 billion to support Ukraine's healthcare system.
