American vocalist, composer, actress and director Barbra Streisand has taken the position of ambassador for the UNITED24 initiative

UNITED24 informs about this on Twitter.

"Barbra Streisand became an ambassador of the UNITED24 platform to focus her efforts on medical care. Ms. Streisand outlined her cooperation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an online call, where she shared her strong connection with Ukrainians," the message reads.

Barbra Streisand's grandparents immigrated to the United States from Ukraine.

"Since I am of Jewish origin with Ukrainian roots, I am especially moved by the struggle of Ukrainians for freedom. The resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people have become a true inspiration for all those working to preserve democracy and fight against authoritarianism. You and your country have my full support," - Streisand said.

Streisand's first project is 24,000 Friends of Ukraine, to attract 24,000 subscribers for a monthly contribution of $24 for medical care.
