Polish farmers block truck traffic to Ukraine and don't want to cooperate — volunteer at border
Serhiy Vanat, a volunteer with the Ukrainian Freedom Force Foundation, notes that Polish protesters are blocking the border and preventing Ukrainian drivers from returning home
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"I am near the Medyka checkpoint in the city of Przemysl. Our drivers have blocked the pedestrian zone and plan to walk on the pedestrian crossing and block the traffic in order to be allowed to enter Ukraine. Polish protesters are blocking our border and not letting our drivers go home. The Poles are not letting the humanitarian convoy through. We find special vehicles, armored vehicles, vehicles for sapper units in the queue. They are all standing in line and nothing is moving. The Poles are blocking the movement of our trucks to Ukraine," Vanat emphasized.
The Ukrainian Freedom Force Foundation volunteer also added that he tried to talk to the Polish protesters.
"But they are not willing to talk. The protesters are demanding the abolition of the visa-free regime for Ukrainian truckers so that they do not transport grain through Poland. They do not want to hear us at all," Vanat said.
- Earlier, Polish farmers promised to block all border crossings with Ukraine for a month starting February 20. At the same time, Ukrainian hauliers announced their own protest in response to Polish farmers.
