Zelenskyy directs diplomats to create Black and Baltic seas security alliance
On August 21, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that diplomats have been tasked with establishing a security alliance aimed at safeguarding the Azov, Black Sea, and Baltic Sea regions
He made the announcement at a briefing during a meeting within the Crimean Platform format.
He emphasized that there will be security in the Black and Azov Seas when Ukraine dominates these regions.
The President also said that diplomats had been tasked with establishing a security alliance with the countries of the Black Sea coast to protect against Russian aggression in the region.
"As for our partners, I will say frankly: I am holding conversations, and diplomats have been tasked with creating an alliance, a security alliance not in spite of NATO, but with NATO countries, with the countries of the Black Sea coast. So that we have a common defense against Russian aggression on the Black Sea and Azov coasts. I would go as far as to say more - the Azov, Black Sea, and Baltic space," Zelenskyy explained.
