What will happen to Russia without China’s support: diplomat explains
Diplomat Volodymyr Ohryzko believes that Russia will be unable to prevent its economy from collapsing without support from China
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
"Russia simply won’t be able to stand against the West without China's support. In fact, without Beijing’s backing, Russia will become an economic loser within a month or two. It’s only due to the Chinese economy that Russia’s economy is still afloat, with additional minor support from India, keeping it half-alive. If Russia’s energy markets in China and India were closed, there would be little left to discuss. It’s possible that Trump could leverage political and economic means to make this happen. After all, NATO Secretary General Rutte is correct in noting that North Korea’s missiles currently only theoretically reach Washington. However, if Russia provides North Korea with everything it needs, that threat could quickly become a reality," Ohryzko explained.
The diplomat emphasized that if Russia transfers nuclear technology to North Korea in exchange for the supply of ammunition and personnel for the war against Ukraine, Trump's response could be radical.
“Trump is unlikely to tolerate Russia strengthening North Korea. He recently mentioned that he had threatened Putin with strikes on Moscow, so he certainly won’t play games with Kim Jong-un. Trump will undoubtedly take radical steps if he feels North Korea poses a nuclear threat to the United States,” he added.
