She said this on the air of Ranok.LIVE.
‘As of now, we already have almost a million veterans, combatants since 2014. In the coming years, and based on the forecasts of the Ministry of Veterans, we may have 4-5 million veterans, including family members of the dead and missing,’ the MP predicted.
According to her, given the current demographic situation, this will amount to approximately 20-25% of the population.
‘This means that we need to think carefully about how to prepare society for the adaptation of veterans, rather than talking about reintegrating veterans,’ emphasised Nykorak.
- In March, the Centre for Veterans Reintegration was established in Ukraine. ‘The Centre's task is not just to hire veterans and recruit military personnel with combat experience, but to work systematically. It is aimed at providing comprehensive support and adaptation of such people to civilian life,’ the press service said.
- In August, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to approve the National Strategy for Veterans' Policy.
- On November 19, Zelenskyy signed a law introducing an e-certificate for veterans.
