Russia attempts to establish bridgehead, but Ukraine maintains control of Oskil River's right bank – General Staff

In the area near Novomlynsk, Kupyansk district, Kharkiv region, Russian forces attempted to capture and hold a bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskil River. Taking advantage of superior numbers, Russians managed to cross the waterway.
However, Ukrainian defenders, supported by artillery and UAV units, successfully forced the Russian troops out of the bridgehead. Soldiers from Ukraine's 8th Separate Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss" cleared the area around Novomlynsk of Russian forces.
"The operation was a success. The enemy was eliminated, and the right bank of the Oskil River remains under the control of the Defense Forces. Ukrainian flags now fly over Novomlynsk," the military stated.
- Since the morning of December 2, there have been 201 recorded clashes between the two armies along the front. The heaviest fighting occurred in the Kurakhove direction, with 67 Russian attacks reported in that area.
