November marks record Russian manpower losses in Ukraine war
In November 2024, the Russian army experienced its highest manpower losses in terms of killed and wounded since the onset of the large-scale invasion
Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported the information.
The Russian army lost 45,720 soldiers in November 2024.
According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, November saw a record-breaking single-day loss for Russian forces, with 2,030 soldiers killed or wounded—marking the highest daily casualty rate since the start of the large-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
Additionally, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 307 Russian tanks in November, the highest monthly total recorded during the fall of 2024.
"If we consider Russia's total losses in weapons and equipment for November 2024, the estimated cost exceeds $3 billion," the Ministry stated. "This figure was lower in September and October, indicating that the Kremlin continues to expend enormous sums of money to sustain the war effort."
- Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost at least 742,130 soldiers in the war in Ukraine (killed and wounded).
