Russia reports UAV strike on its largest metallurgical plant Severstal
On the morning of Thursday, March 7, a "technological incident" was reported at Russia's largest steel mill, Severstal. Local authorities report a UAV strike
RIA Novosti and Severstal's official channel reported the information.
"This morning, a technological incident occurred at CherMK's blast furnace production facility. No one was injured. One of the units has been put out of service for the previously scheduled repair. The causes of the incident are being investigated," Severstal wrote.
This refers to the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works, located in the Vologda region, Russia.
Later, Russian media outlets cited the acting governor as saying that a UAV had allegedly hit the plant.

Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works is a key asset of the Severstal Russian Steel division of Russian oligarch Alexei Mordashov. It includes four types of production: coke and sinter blast furnace, steelmaking, long products, and flat products (including pipe production).
