A person close to the Kremlin told the publication that the military operation forced Russia to divert its own forces from the frontline.

"There is a war on the territory of Russia," he said.

Instead, a local resident says that life for Russians has turned into hell: "Our lives changed and turned into hell. People started to be afraid and panic. Everyone started to leave.”

In the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of an alleged attack on the Belgorod region using Vampire MLRS.
