Ukraine's Defense Ministry has signed an agreement with the German company Rheinmetall to supply a batch of 180,000 35-mm ammunition for Gepard tanks

Rheinmetall has announced a significant contract received in December 2024 to deliver 180,000 HEI-T 35mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun tank .
According to the company, the contract is valued at "double-digit millions of euros" and is fully funded by Germany.
The first shipments are scheduled for 2026. These munitions, specifically designed to effectively target airborne threats such as drones, will be manufactured at Rheinmetall's facility in Lower Saxony. The plant underwent extensive upgrades in the spring of 2023 to meet the rising demand for 35mm ammunition.
