Ukraine reports 108 combat clashes at front, repels 17 attacks in Kursk region

Since the start of January 6, there have been 108 combat clashes on the frontline between Ukrainian and Russian forces, including 45 in the Kursk region. Ukrainian troops repelled six attacks in the Kurakhove sector

"Russian invaders continue to assault Ukrainian positions, but Ukrainian forces are disrupting their plans and inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment," the statement said.

Border towns are still being shelled from Russia, including Karpovychi in the Chernihiv region and Bila Bereza in the Sumy region.

Frontline situation

Ukrainian forces repelled two attacks near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv sector today. The Russian army also targeted Orishanka with guided aerial bombs; Udy and Hraniv with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian army launched three assaults near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Zahryzove, two of which ended, while one is still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked seven times near Nadiia, Pershotravneve, and Makiivka, with fighting still continuing.

In the Siversk sector, Russian aircraft dropped seven guided bombs on Siversk and attacked Ukrainian positions near Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three attempts by Russian troops to advance near Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Stupochky. Russia also launched 24 unguided aerial missiles at Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian army attacked twice near Shcherbynivka and hit Katerynivka, Toretsk, and Oleksandro-Kalynove with aerial bombs.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces made 16 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Novyi Trud, and Pokrovsk. Ukrainian forces repelled 12 attacks, and four firefights are still ongoing. Oleksandropil was hit in an airstrike.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Russian army attacked seven times today near Slovianka, Petropavlivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne. Six battles are over, and one is still ongoing. Andriivka was hit by a guided bomb.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian troops attacked four times near Kostiantynopil and Kostiantynopolske. One battle is still ongoing. They also launched an airstrike with unguided missiles near Novopil.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army attacked once near Novodanylivka and hit Stepnohirsk with unguided missiles.

No Russian offensive actions were reported in the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi sectors.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled 17 attacks, and 45 more combat engagements are ongoing.

In other parts of the front, the situation remains largely unchanged.

  • The occupying Russian army lost 1,550 servicemen and several equipment and weaponry units over the day of the war against Ukraine.
