Over 100 people attended the event, organized by the Union of Ukrainian Marines charity fund and the Marine Corps Force association.
Families of prisoners and public representatives joined the peaceful rally, calling on international organizations, foreign governments, and concerned individuals to support Ukraine in its fight for the freedom of its captives.
The event also features a photo exhibition titled The Third New Year Without You, showcasing stories and portraits of the prisoners.

- On December 30, the Ukrainian side managed to return 189 servicemen from Russian captivity, including the defenders of Mariupol and Zmiinyi Island.
- On January 5, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that 1,358 Ukrainians were freed from Russian captivity in 2024.
